Description
The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. The Office of Statewide Programs, Department of Family and Juvenile Services has an opening for a Court Designated Worker, in Hardin County.
The Court Designated Worker (CDW) provides intake, assessment, diversion, referral, and case management services for youth and families involved in Kentucky's juvenile justice system. Working collaboratively with courts, schools, law enforcement, and community partners, the CDW assesses complaints, identifies appropriate interventions, connects families with resources, and monitors compliance with diversion agreements. This position promotes early intervention, family engagement, and community-based solutions to improve outcomes for youth while reducing unnecessary court involvement.
EDUCATION: Associate degree in a job-related field, such as human services, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One (1) year of job-related experience, to include working with youth and families, human services, criminal justice, and, or, the juvenile justice system
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Two (2) additional years of job-related work experience may substitute for the associate degree.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office or similar indoor environment. Must have driver’s license and dependable transportation. Occasionally requires working with family situations involving heightened conflict, instability and potential volatility. Ability to travel throughout the assigned region and across the Commonwealth of Kentucky to attend meetings, trainings, conferences, court proceedings, and other program- related activities. Due to the nature of the job duties and responsibilities, this position is not authorized for virtual work.
