Course:

Metamorphic Petrology, EPSC 445 (3 credits)

Course description:

Teaches students about the origin, classification and petrological significance of metamorphic rocks, from the point of view of theory, experiment and field observations.

Assessment may be adapted to the instructor’s pedagogical approach, including the design of course assignments, quizzes, and final examination.

Responsibilities include teaching, course management, developing exam materials, organizing and offering lab courses, contributing to grading, and supervising TA’s. TA support is based on enrolment, which will not exceed 10 for Fall 2026.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

We seek an instructor with a PhD or other advanced degree in Earth Sciences who has previously taught or applied principles of metamorphic geology, preferably with experience studying metamorphic rocks in thin section or in the field.

Lecture: MW 09:35 am-10:25 am ADAMS 315

Lab: F 02:35 pm-05:25 pm ADAMS 315
