Qualifications
Summary: The Courier position provides support to the Crisis Stabilization Unit staff and patients by providing transportation and courier services while acting on behalf of the facility. The Courier is required to work in a cooperative effort with other CSU staff to provide a safe, structured environment which promotes and facilitates overall health and wellness for patients with a continual focus on progress towards greater independence and less restrictive levels of care.
Job Responsibilities: - Responds to the CSU staff and Director of the facility by providing courier services to Henry County Medical Center, other local hospitals, local pharmacies, and other establishments as needed by the facility. - Picks up and delivers meals, linens, medications, lab specimens, etc. as needed by the facility. - Transfers patients to / from our facility as well as other facilities while providing safe and adequate care within their scope of practice. - Records all vehicle usage and mileage in the vehicle maintenance and mileage log sheets. - Assists in the scheduling and transportation for all patients. - May be required to provide transportation for patients related to recreational, shopping, medical and other needs after consultation with supervisors. - Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled by Director of the CSU to discuss programmatic and patient- related issues. - Reports all problems related to patients, transportation, and patient care to the Director of the CSU. - Follows all guidelines outlined in the CAREY Policies and Procedures Manual including Corporate Compliance Policies. - Is expected to have regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with others. - Other assigned duties by supervisor or management to meet the needs of the organization.
