The Laboratory Courier (LC) delivers supplies and reports to laboratory clients and picks up, transports, and delivers routine and expedited specimens from the client sites to the laboratory. The Courier ensures that the quality of specimens is maintained throughout the transport process and keeps specimen-tracking logs. This position also functions as a liaison between Laboratory Client Service and staff at client sites. This individual is responsible for keeping the transport vehicle clean and orderly.
This position is a set 7:00pm-3:00am.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a New York driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The courier may be required to work, (day, evening or night shifts) including weekends, holidays and on-call. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to infectious and hazardous chemicals as outlined in the department’s Chemical Hygiene Plan.
The noise level of the department is moderate to high. The work environment is subject to constant interruptions in workflow.
