County School Improvement Leadership Team Member

The School Improvement Team Member serves as the teacher representative for their assigned school and collaborates with district and school leadership to promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning. This position requires experience in analyzing and utilizing multiple sources of student achievement and instructional data to inform decision-making, support effective instructional practices, and improve student outcomes. Team members will participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of school improvement plans; collaborate with school leadership to identify instructional priorities; review academic and performance data; and support evidence-based strategies that enhance classroom instruction and student achievement. Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Six (6) positions - one per school as follows : MHS, MMS, MIS, MES, EHHS, EHES; please specify for which position you are applying

Qualifications:

  • West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate.
  • Currently employed at Hardy County Schools and a certified teacher
  • Three (3) years of successful teaching experience required
  • Knowledge of effective instruction/pedagogy and content knowledge
  • Exhibit leadership capabilities and the capacity to assume additional responsibilities
  • Successful completion of the Hardy County interview process
  • Complete all required county and WVDE trainings
  • Demonstrated experience using student achievement and instructional data to guide instructional decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous school improvement processes and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school and district leadership teams.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • The ability to perform the job duties and responsibilities as contained in the Job Description, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Additional Minimum Requirements:
    • Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.
    • Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.
    • Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.
    • Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.

Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year
Salary: $1000 per position - paid through Step 7d
