Examples of duties

This position supports the review of plan authorizations and service use to ensure compliance with state requirements and funding rules. The role also assists with monitoring how services are used so that planning decisions are based on accurate information. As a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Plan Oversight: Review Individual Support Plans to ensure service levels match assessed needs
  • Service Monitoring: Track how authorized services are used and identify trends that may affect waiver budgets
  • Report Review: Collect and examine utilization reports from agencies to support accurate planning
  • Provider Coordination: Work with providers to encourage timely billing and resolve issues that affect service reporting
  • Data Evaluation: Assess service use and authorizations to determine possible effects on budgets and enrollment
  • Quality Support: Assist with risk management, quality improvement efforts, and technical assistance when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework). After an employee has completed six (6) months of employment and have regular status, there may be opportunities for hybrid work, per the program offices' hybrid schedule. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Drexel Hill. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
