Title: Country Security Officer – Siemens Pakistan

Location: Karachi, Pakistan

The Mission

The Country Security Officer contributes to the security of Siemens personnel, installations, and information. This role supports and advises local and regional management in implementing and complying with the requirements of the Regional Security Officer and/or country management, and acts as the point of contact for all security-related issues within the country.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk & Threat Management

  • Identification and assessment of country-specific security threats and related risks
  • Development and implementation of security concepts and plans for projects
  • Management of country property protection, including categorization of sites into protection classes as per Siemens policies, in coordination with the business units

Travel & Personnel Security

  • Implementation of Siemens travel regulations
  • Ensuring security awareness for travelers and provision of adequate security measures, where necessary
  • Provision of security assistance and support for international delegates
  • Provision of security assistance for VIP visits, implementing the corresponding security concept in cooperation with the Regional Security Officer and/or country management

Information Security & Awareness

  • Implementation of awareness-raising measures for information security, in close cooperation with IT and/or InfoSec representatives within the region
  • Raising staff awareness on important security issues

Stakeholder Relations

  • Development and sustainment of contacts with local security and military authorities, local security providers/consultants, counterparts at other companies, embassies, and other entities

General Support

  • Experience in security situations and analysis
  • Supporting the Regional Security Officer and/or country management in any other fields as required

Qualifications & Experience:

Professional Background

  • Professional security qualification from a recognized security authority, or equivalent experience within law enforcement, regulatory enforcement, or a related field — minimum 5 years
  • Deep experience in corporate security or a similar commercial environment in high-risk countries, including practical experience in project management, incident and crisis management within an international company, security company, or similar setting
  • Solid experience managing relationships, security agencies, and/or regulatory bodies; similar experience in other countries in the region is an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of the main political and security issues in Pakistan and the wider region

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong prioritization and workload management skills, with minimal direct supervision and flexibility across multiple, diverse tasks
  • Ability to analyze and assimilate information from diverse sources, including local and international media, social media, and other local information channels
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure in time-critical situations
  • Sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of different religious, ethnic, tribal, and cultural groups
  • Proven integrity and high personal standards of behavior
  • Strong networking skills, both internally within the region and externally with authorities, institutions, and other entities
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a variety of audiences, particularly CEOs, country management, and other senior managers
  • Fluent in Urdu and English, with outstanding communication and presentation skills
