The Country Medical Head Nordics is the senior medical leader in the country operations and in the region, with strategic and operational accountability for the function.

The Country Medical Head Nordics manages all medical activities for the products under his/her responsibility in the country. He/ She Provides expert internal and external medical support, including education to the respective marketing teams and company divisions and building medical educational activities to HCP’s. He/ She will hire, manage, lead and develop the Medical Affairs Managers (MAMs) and Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) on their teams, when applicable.

The Medical Head Nordics will develop expertise in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area as well as any additional future Medison products, and, areas of research and drives strategic partnerships with Healthcare professionals (HCPs) at peer-to-peer level developing their knowledge and providing solutions to support appropriate use of medicines for better patient outcomes

The Country Medical head Nordics reports to the Global Medical Head until final decision will be taken, and works in close partnership with the Country Manager and is an active member of the Country Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical expertise to the relatedtherapeutic area (s) they are responsible for (cardiometabolic expertise is advantageous) including continuous updates and on-going medical developments in the field.
  • Provide clinical updates and educating on the appropriate medical teams and where appropriate the commercial team(s).
  • Build and Lead a team of MAMS and/orMSLs where appropriate, including hiring, engaging and ensuring their professional development.
  • Analyze relevant scientific and clinical material, and provide lectures and presentations as per local needs and tactics.
  • Train and educate the medicalteams on all products thatthey are responsible for.
  • Participate in conferences and relevant medical activities as assessed .
  • Establish strong scientific and medical relationships with KOL's, including identifying and developing collaborative relationships with key health care physicians in the relevant therapy area(s).
  • Provide medical information support to the Nordics HCP’s.
  • Build and oversee yearly medical plans, as part of our XF plans including annual medical budgets.
  • Provide proactive support to the market access teams and other relevant functions such as regulatory team.
  • Manage early access programs and compassionate programs and clinical research in country, where applicable.
  • Manage the Review of local promotional and non-promotional materials.
  • Ensure all potential adverse events received are reported to Pharmacovigilance dept,per company policies.
  • Work meticulously in accordance with the company code of ethics
  • Role model the Company’s culture and valuesand being respectful at all timesof the partners’ compliance and cultural requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life science such as MD. PhD. PharmD.
  • Experience in the field of cardiology- an advantage
  • 8-10 years’ experience in pharma in medical or a combination of medical and commercial role.
  • Proven record in launching innovative medicines and in building infrastructure and stakeholder environment
  • Strong scientific/clinical and medical affairs knowledge
  • Experience in gathering medical insights to support next actions to enhance customer experience.
  • Very good understanding of local healthcare environment
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and a variety of external customers.

  • Fluent in one of the local languages and in English.
