Job Description

As we accelerate our expansion into Thailand, we are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Country Manager to lead and grow our business in this key market.

The Country Manager – Thailand will be responsible for the full-spectrum management of Solarvest's Thailand business unit. This is a strategic leadership role requiring a commercially astute individual with deep knowledge of the Thai energy market, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement strategies aligning with the company values, strategic direction and goals to drive growth and profitability of the company, establishing company presence in the country for market expansion.
  • Identify market trends, opportunities, competitive landscape, and local regulations to inform strategic decisions and business initiatives.
  • Responsible for the P&L for Thailand business unit, ensuring that financial targets are achieved, and costs are being optimized to maximize the growth of the company.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the country's operations, ensuring efficient and effective execution of projects, business strategies and objectives.
  • Drive the business development initiatives and develop strategic partnerships in the clean energy ecosystem, including clients, suppliers, industry associations, regulatory bodies and governmental agencies to drive company presence and market share.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international regulations related to clean energy and leverage a deep understanding of compliance to position the company in a leading position for business development.
  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of top talent to build a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with company culture and strategic goals.
  • Report on business progress to company leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement for the company growth in the strategic geographical location.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the energy, renewable energy, or related industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or country management capacity.
  • Proven track record in P&L management and achieving revenue and growth targets.
  • Experience in building and scaling business operations in Thailand or Southeast Asia from an early or expansion stage.

Technical & Industry Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of the Thai clean energy market, including solar PV, regulatory landscape, grid policies, and key industry players.
  • Familiarity with local energy regulations, permitting processes, and governmental bodies (e.g., EGAT, PEA, MEA, ERC).
  • Understanding of project development lifecycle in the renewable energy sector, from origination to financial close and construction.
  • Commercially savvy with strong financial acumen — ability to read, analyse, and manage P&L statements, budgets, and forecasts.

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills

  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills — able to engage effectively with C-suite executives, government officials, and strategic partners.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive to build, scale, and own the business outcomes.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving — a true embodiment of the Solarvest culture: things are made to happen.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt quickly to evolving market dynamics and business needs.

Language & Communication

  • Fluency in Thai and English (both written and spoken) is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills — able to articulate complex business and technical information to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
