Job Summary:
The role is responsible for driving the sustainable growth and long-term success of the Canadian business. Reporting to the President, Americas Commercial, the Country Manager develops and executes strategies that enhance revenue growth, profitability, market share, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction while fostering a high-performing, customer-centric culture. The role identifies opportunities to strengthen CooperVision's market position, promotes operational excellence, and delivers business results aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and long-range strategic plans to achieve financial and business objectives.
- Maintain accountability for financial performance through effective planning, forecasting, and operational controls.
- Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities, including new markets, distribution channels, partnerships, and commercial initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of sales, marketing, and business development plans to support sustainable growth.
- Negotiate and manage key commercial contracts and business agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, governance, quality, and business ethics requirements.
- Foster employee engagement, talent development, and wellness initiatives in partnership with Human Resources.
- Provide timely market insights and demand forecasts to support product planning and supply requirements.
- Establish strong partnerships with Supply Chain, Operations, RAQA, and R&D to align commercial priorities with operational capabilities and customer needs.
- Define market requirements and ensure appropriate support, resources, and programs are in place to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure effective execution of commercial strategies and initiatives.
- Champion the effective use of Professional Affairs resources to enhance product knowledge, clinical expertise, and customer education.
- Execute Professional & Academic Affairs and Myopia Management strategies in alignment with commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Enhance CooperVision's market position through excellent customer experience, product value, service, and supply reliability.
- Ensure effective service delivery from global support functions to meet business needs.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, industry developments, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.
- Oversee country reporting, business communications, and performance management processes.
- Navigate regional, channel, customer, and language complexities across the Canadian market.
- Exercise sound business judgment and decision-making authority across the Canadian P&L and associated commercial functions.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Regular travel within Canada to support customers, employees, and business operations across multiple provinces.
- Travel is expected to represent approximately 30% of working time, depending on business needs.

- Strong commercial acumen with expertise in sales, marketing, business development, and strategic planning.

- Strong financial acumen, including experience interpreting business performance metrics and managing P&L outcomes.
- Sound understanding of legal, regulatory, compliance, and governance principles relevant to commercial operations.
- Ability to lead through complexity, balance competing priorities, and make effective decisions in a dynamic business environment.
- Strategic and customer-focused mindset, with the ability to identify market opportunities and translate insights into business results.

Experience
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience across sales, marketing, and commercial operations, including significant senior management responsibility.
- Proven track record of building, leading, and growing a business through effective strategy execution, P&L management, and operational excellence.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and delivering sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
- Experience operating within a complex, matrixed, and cross-functional global organization.
- Optical industry experience strongly preferred. Experience within the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or related industry is highly desirable.
- Experience with products serving both professional and consumer markets is considered an asset.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Healthcare, Technical, Optical, or a related discipline required.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
