Country Lead, Innovative Medicines & Patient Solutions (Sydney)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Country Lead, Innovative Medicines & Patient Solutions to lead the growth of DKSH Healthcare Australia’s Innovative Medicines and Patient Solutions business.

This senior leadership role will identify, secure and commercialise innovative pharmaceutical products through exclusive licensing, agency and market expansion partnerships. You will build strategic relationships with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, lead complex commercial negotiations and deliver integrated solutions that support product success and improve patient access to innovative therapies.

Drawing on DKSH’s capabilities across regulatory affairs, market access, medical affairs, sales, marketing, patient support programs, pharmacovigilance, supply chain and distribution, you will drive portfolio expansion, commercial performance and long-term sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic growth plan for the Innovative Medicines and Patient Solutions business.
• Identify new business opportunities, therapeutic areas, products and service offerings.
• Build a strong pipeline of exclusive licensing, agency and market expansion opportunities.
• Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
• Lead major client proposals, RFPs, tenders and commercial negotiations.
• Act as executive sponsor for key client accounts, supporting client satisfaction, retention and partnership growth.
• Lead commercial planning, budgeting, forecasting and pipeline management.
• Monitor performance across revenue, profitability, gross margin, operating profit and pipeline conversion.
• Oversee the design, delivery and continuous improvement of patient support programs, including access, adherence, education and nurse support services.
• Lead, coach and develop the Innovative Medicines and Patient Solutions team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Work closely with Medical, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Quality and regional leadership teams.
• Ensure sound governance and compliance with applicable legislation, healthcare regulations, privacy requirements, the Medicines Australia Code and contractual obligations.
• Identify opportunities to introduce innovative commercial models, digital health solutions and patient-centred services.
• Represent DKSH Healthcare at industry conferences, client forums and executive leadership meetings.

About You

You are a strategic and commercially astute healthcare leader with a strong understanding of the Australian pharmaceutical, biotechnology or specialty medicines market. You combine business development expertise with the ability to build trusted partnerships, lead cross-functional teams and deliver sustainable commercial results.

You will ideally bring:

• Significant senior leadership experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare services or related life sciences sector.
• Demonstrated success in business development, licensing, market expansion or pharmaceutical commercialisation.
• Strong commercial and financial capability, including budgeting, forecasting, pipeline management and profitability oversight.
• Experience leading complex client negotiations, strategic partnerships, tenders and commercial agreements.
• A strong understanding of patient support programs and patient-centred healthcare solutions.
• The ability to build executive-level relationships with clients, partners and industry stakeholders.
• Proven experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of Australian healthcare governance, regulatory and compliance expectations.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
• The ability to translate market trends, customer needs and emerging opportunities into practical growth strategies.
• A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across commercial, medical, regulatory, operational and corporate functions.
