We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Country Lead to join our Building & Infrastructure (B&I) Business Unit in Malaysia, with a primary focus on the manufacturing, data center, and semiconductor sectors as well as operations experience.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background combined with proven experience in business development, key account management, and commercial strategy. This role is responsible for driving growth by identifying and securing new opportunities, expanding strategic client relationships, and leading the development of comprehensive technical and commercial proposals tailored to both local and regional markets.

Qualifications and Requirements

• • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or Science. A postgraduate qualification in Business, Management, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in the construction, engineering, or industrial sectors, with strong operational leadership exposure, particularly in managing large-scale projects and service delivery.
  • Proven track record in data centre projects and operations is essential, including involvement in mission-critical facilities, commissioning, and lifecycle management. Exposure to semiconductor and manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end operations management, including P&L accountability, resource planning, process optimisation, and performance management.
  • Experience in consultancy, inspection, testing, certification (TIC), or project management services will be highly regarded.
  • Strong background in business development and key account management, including preparation of technical and commercial proposals and driving revenue growth.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, project delivery frameworks, and regulatory requirements within the building, infrastructure, and data center sectors
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at senior management and C-suite levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong professional relationships across local and regional markets.
  • Self-driven, strategic, and results-oriented, with the capability to lead cross-functional teams and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal development tools; familiarity with CRM systems is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Malaysian regulations, codes, and standards related to building, infrastructure, industrial facilities, and data centers.
  • Possesses own transport and is willing to travel within Malaysia and occasionally regionally for business needs.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage, particularly for engagement with manufacturing, semiconductor, and data center clients.
