Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Opportunity

As Country Head of Global Trade & Receivable Finance (GTS) for Egypt you’ll own the country Profit & Loss (P&L) and set the direction for how we grow and serve customers across Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB). The role is central to how HSBC brings trade and receivables solutions to market - from strategy and propositions through to delivery and fulfilment. You will chair local executive meetings and represent GTS across local, regional and global committees and forums. You will also engage directly with regulators and industry bodies, helping shape market responses to events that affect customers and the wider industry. Success means delivering sustainable growth and returns while strengthening governance, controls and customer outcomes. It also means positioning HSBC as a top local provider of GTS services through clear market presence and measurable progress in external benchmarks.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the GTS country strategy for Egypt including plans to grow the franchise and strengthen performance
  • Deliver the country GTS Profit & Loss (P&L) and return targets in line with agreed plans
  • Shape and deliver key strategic initiatives and programs that improve solutions provided to customers
  • Build a customer-focused environment with globally consistent propositions, standardized operations and improved customer experience
  • Oversee deployment of the Country Target Business Model and ensure alignment across country and region
  • Establish clear governance and controls so the business operates within acceptable risk parameters
  • Advance growth in priority areas including Structured Trade Finance and Sustainability in line with regional strategy
  • Represent GTS with local executive forums and with external regulators and industry bodies as required

What we're looking for

  • Bring substantial commercial banking and relationship management experience including deep knowledge of Trade & Receivable Finance on a global basis
  • Highly developed management skills, with experience in team building and managing a wide range of projects.
  • Ability to lead and motivate other managers and staff, employing appropriate management styles.
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills set.
  • Experience of managing resources to achieve objectives using appropriate communication delegation and planning skills.
  • Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems whilst maintaining budgets, time scales and quality of output.
  • A sound knowledge of all aspects of the CIB business.
  • An ability to appreciate the application of technology in relation to operations

Building Egypt’s GTS franchise

This role gives you the platform to set country direction for a core HSBC capability that supports customers’ everyday trade and working capital needs. You’ll connect strategy to execution across products, operations, technology and governance while partnering closely with CIB stakeholders. You’ll also represent HSBC externally where market structure, regulation and industry response matter. If you want to shape growth, customer outcomes and controls across a major trade corridor this is the role to explore. Apply to help strengthen how HSBC serves GTS customers in Egypt.
