We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our team in East Granby, CT. As the daily face of our organization to our customers, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional service while managing a variety of sales and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.   • Engage with customers daily via phone, email, fax, and in-person interactions to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and organizational standards
  • Look up, research, and order parts and products, ensuring customers receive the information they need in a timely manner
  • Manage customer relationships by following up on existing orders, communicating delivery schedules, and addressing backorder status
  • Promote and actively support sales promotions and new product offerings to drive business growth
  • Research and resolve customer issues and complaints with empathy and professionalism, turning challenges into opportunities for loyalty
  • Handle pricing reviews, margin analysis, and make appropriate adjustments when warranted to support company objectives
  • Process credit and return requests while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist with warehouse activities including receiving, restocking, and inventory management to support branch operations
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams, credit departments, billing, shipping, and technical service to deliver premier customer experiences
  • Maintain a commitment to safety protocols and support our Zero Harm culture by reporting incidents and near-misses promptly
  • Perform additional duties as directed to ensure the efficient operation of the branch

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • 2-4 years of customer service experience in a sales or retail environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent (or combined education and relevant work experience)
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment within a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Cash handling experience and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively while maintaining accuracy
  • Demonstrated decision-making capability and attention to detail

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience in the HVAC, industrial, or manufacturing sales industry
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and practices
  • Warehouse operations experience
  • Forklift certification or operation experience
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software
