The ROLE
As a Counter Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind your counter’s performance — leading your team to deliver inspiring, tailored service while building long-term customer loyalty.
You’ll combine commercial leadership with hands-on beauty expertise, creating an environment where customers feel seen, supported, and excited to return.
We have several Counter Manager Opportunities at locations such as Hay Street Mall, Carousel and Claremont Quarter.
Lead, coach and motivate a team to deliver results and exceptional service
Bring luxury beauty to life through product expertise, demonstrations and storytelling
Drive counter performance through sales strategy, clienteling and KPI accountability
Build and grow a loyal base of returning clients through genuine connection
Create unforgettable customer experiences — every interaction, every time
Maintain counter presentation standards in line with premium brand expectations
Proven experience as a Counter Manager / Senior Beauty Consultant / Team Leader (beauty or luxury retail)
A strong service mindset with a passion for customer experience
Confidence leading a team and driving performance through coaching
Experience in consultative selling, treatments or makeup application (highly regarded)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same
Flexibility to work retail hours including late nights and weekends
Passion for representing David Jones and world-class brands (e.g. Chanel, Dior, La Mer)
Beauty Therapy / Makeup Artistry qualifications are desirable but not essential for all counters.
