The Comin’ Up Part-Time Counselor is responsible for assessment, clinical counseling sessions, counseling and wrap-around services, administrative duties, facility and child safety, and administrative compliance. The Counselor will work in the various organizational departments of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County. The goal of the Comin’ Up Program is to deploy various strategies, programming, and resources to significantly contribute to CCPD’s violence reduction initiatives. The Counselor will help us reach this goal by providing clinical assessments to youth ages 12-18, create and implement treatment plans, conduct individual and group counseling, assist with crisis management, and coordinate wrap-around services for our Boys & Girls Club members. The Part-Time Counselor position works to support evening programming on various nights (to be scheduled) at multiple locations based on staffing needs.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements
• Ability to work regular program hours with periodic evenings, nights and weekends
• Ensure licensure remains in good standing
• Holds personal professional liability insurance for malpractice
• Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; experience or certification preferred
• Ability to be a positive role model
• Ability to work with at-risk youth
• Ability to be patient with youth and adults
• Knowledge of technology and software such as tablets, social media, cloud based tools, virtual meeting tools
• Ability to provide one-on-one or group counseling/therapy
• Knowledge of community resources
• Effective organizational skills
• Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screen at any time
• Must have reliable transportation, liability insurance, satisfactory driving record and a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties
Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual
• Management or supervisory experience
• Experience with behavior modification and positive discipline techniques
• Knowledge of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); experience or certification preferred
• Knowledge of play therapy; experience or certification preferred
• Knowledge of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)therapy; experience or certification preferred
• Work experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club) is an advantage
