Join our team of counselors at our drug and alcohol recovery program in Philadelphia PA, where you’ll support individuals navigating substance use in a structured, therapeutic setting. You’ll build meaningful relationships, lead recovery-focused services, and gain valuable clinical experience while strengthening your professional skills.

The Counselor's responsibilities will include:

Clinical & Engagement

  • Provide group and individual therapy; assess needs and motivate participation
  • Build rapport using strong core counseling skills while maintaining boundaries

Caseload & Documentation

  • Manage caseload, track progress, and maintain accurate, compliant records
  • Re-engage individuals who are not actively participating

Case Management

  • Connect clients to community resources; provide support as needed

Operations & Compliance

  • Communicate with team, meet productivity, and follow all policies and standards
  • Participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement

Earn $24.06 per hour in this full-time role.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychology, addictions studies, social work or related field with specialty or concentration in counseling
  • Actively working towards a credential through PCB (i.e., CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CCS), or be actively working toward licensure or certification. **Licensure or certification will need to be achieved within two to three (2 - 3) years of hire, depending on requirements.
  • Hires after 7/1/2021 – employees must complete and maintain certification required by regulations and offered by Merakey within the required timeline. Failure to successfully complete and maintain license and/or certification and associated continuing education requirements will prevent you from being able to fulfill this role.
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English) IS A PLUS!
