Job DetailsJob Location: Hixson Middle - Webster Groves, MO 63119Position Type: Full TimePrimary Objective:
To help support the unique and dynamic developmental needs of adolescent learners
To support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well being of all students
Essential Functions:
Provide staff, students, and parents with guidance on course placement
Collaborate with school social worker, teachers, students and parents to determine possible need for 504 accommodations; distribute 504 plan to appropriate teachers; oversee implementation
Actively participate in IEP meetings and provide feedback in support of student needs
Provide a welcoming and thorough process for new students that includes course selection and acclimation into the school environment
Meet with parents as needed to discuss academic progress, social/emotional concerns and safe and healthy lifestyles
Facilitate or participate in conferences with teachers regarding student progress
Support students in crisis
Share with staff individual assessment data along with strategies for improvement
Provide individual and group counseling services
Collaborate with outside providers and community partners to secure resources to support student needs
Provide responsive services to students in need
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Missouri Counselor Certification
Master's Degree required
Experience preferred
