Summary
Camp Bami is an Early Childhood camp for children 3-4 years old in a dedicated early childhood facility. Camp Bami’s specialties include Jewish programming, music, and arts and crafts. Daily instructional swim will be led by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Staff is required to assist in the pool during swim time.

Summary
The J Camps Senior Counselor is responsible for planning, leading and implementing programming for children in both small and large group settings.  They will be responsible for the general safety, development, growth and skill enhancement of the participants in his/her group.  This individual will provide high quality educational and recreational experiences for campers that focus on J Camp guiding principles.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Supervise all assigned aspects of the campers’ day (i.e. activities, swimming, lunch, clean-up and carpool)
- Learn and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
- Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
- Organize and guide campers in successful participation of small and large group camp activities.
- Set a good example for campers, staff and others including cleanliness, language, punctuality and sportsmanship.
- Follow camp policies and procedures and communicate and report regularly with Director/Assistant Director regarding challenges, updates and concerns.
- Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
- Learn the likes and dislikes of each camper.
- Interact with parents in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepare for and actively participate in staff training and meetings.
- Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities.
These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications
- Must be 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent as of June.
- Demonstrated experience working with children.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.  Able to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel.
- Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities.
- Upon hire, complete First Aid and CPR Certification (or recertification expired)
- Upon hire, complete 8 hours of childcare pre-service training.
- Ability to change diapers or help with toileting as needed.
- High energy, proactive, deadline/task oriented, responsible and high sense of urgency.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks.
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control.
- Willingness to be flexible and available to attend Meet the Counselor and Family Shabbat events.
- Willingness to perform job tasks not part of immediate job responsibilities but aides in member satisfaction and getting the job done
