Qualifications:
- Education Required: Open.
- Education Preferred: Bachelor's in human services or related field.
- Experience Required: Any relevant experience in the related field.
- Experience Preferred: 3 years of relevant human services field work experience.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required. Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.
Position Specifics
- Employment Status: This is a full-time position, typically operating on a 32-hour work week.
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Compensation: Non-exempt, hourly position at $27.87 per hour (approximately $46,375.68 annually).
- Benefits: A comprehensive benefits package is offered.
- Service Area: Eastern Iowa, including Scott, Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Louisa Counties.
- Primary Location: Scott County.
- On-Call Requirement: Participation in a rotating day, evening, and weekend on-call schedule is required.
Position Details
The Counselor Advocate - Iowa Sexual Abuse will provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered, comprehensive services to survivors of sexual abuse within our service area, which includes Scott, Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Louisa County. This position will provide both in-person and telehealth counseling to support clients in the recovery process. This position will utilize a variety of intervention techniques in order to assist the client in meeting his or her goals of counseling. In addition, this position will provide outreach, awareness, and training to the communities in the areas served to ensure survivors have access to services. This position will also require the Counselor Advocate to provide in-person and over-the-phone crisis intervention and advocacy as needed. This position must be available and capable of participating in the 24-hour on-call rotation for Survivor Services, including day, night, weekend, and holiday coverage between 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m., and full 24-hour rotations on weekends and holidays across all five counties served (Scott, Muscatine, Louisa, Jackson, and Clinton)This position requires reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor - Braking Traffik & Iowa Domestic Abuse/Sexual Abuse. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.
