Job Location: Prestonwood Pregnancy Center - Richardson, TX 75080,
Position Type: Full-Time, Education Level: Graduate Degree,
Job Category: Counselor, Provides counseling services to clients of the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center (“PPC”).
Responsibilities
- Administer intake assessments and counsel clients from a Biblical, Christ-centered perspective
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential client records in accordance with PPC policies and applicable laws
- Develop care plans with clients including goals, referrals, and follow-up appointments
- Track client progress and follow up on missed appointments or referrals to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in periodic case reviews with the Director of Client Services and other counseling staff to ensure quality and consistency of care
- Develop curriculum for and lead groups surrounding relevant issues
- Teach classes online and in person to clients
- Provide training to staff and volunteers as needed
- Recognize and respond to situations which require reporting to local police and/or Child Protective Services
- Build relationships with appropriate referral resources available to clients
- Model excellence in all areas
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Requirements:
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry
- Pro-life in word and pro-love in action
- LPC, LCSW or LMFT
- Familiar with and knowledgeable of perinatal mental health issues
- Strong crisis intervention skills
- Knowledgeable of appropriate referral resources available to clients
- Comfortable with individual and group counseling
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Experience working with or directing volunteers helpful
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work at a desk with a computer screen for extended periods of time, while occasionally performing physical activities requiring moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, pushing/pulling a cart, and lifting up to 10 pounds without assistance
- Ability to work a Monday – Friday schedule with flexibility to include approximately two evenings per week, one Saturday per month, and PPC scheduled events
