Boone Memorial Health is seeking a qualified and compassionate Therapist to support clients enrolled in the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program at the Brighter Futures Clinic. This position is responsible for completing client intakes and assessments, providing individual and group therapy, coordinating care, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and program requirements. The Therapist plays a key role in supporting recovery, continuity of care, and patient advocacy within the MAT program.

Essential Functions

The Therapist assesses clients entering the treatment program by completing all required intake documentation, including intake paperwork, biopsychosocial assessments, and GPRA forms. If a client is determined not to be appropriate for the MAT program, the Therapist assists the client in exploring alternative treatment options.

The Therapist conducts individual and group therapy sessions as required, completes and revises patient treatment plans in accordance with state regulations, and prepares discharge summaries within 24 hours of a client exiting the program. This role assists with assessing patient interest in and appropriateness for the MAT program and helps manage MAT patient registries to promote adherence to care plans.

The Therapist works collaboratively with MAT providers and other staff to assist patients through the healthcare system and serves as a patient advocate. Responsibilities include facilitating patient education and access to healthcare and community resources, coordinating continuity of care with external healthcare organizations and substance use disorder treatment centers, and assisting patients with admission to appropriate programs when needed.

Accurate, concise, and timely documentation is required in both written and electronic systems. The Therapist participates actively in staff meetings, trainings, and community collaborations to improve quality of care for the MAT patient population. This role promotes collaborative relationships with partner agencies, recognizes and respects cultural diversity, and upholds the Brighter Futures mission statement.

The Therapist helps ensure compliance with all federal, state, and program guidelines related to the treatment of opioid use disorder and safeguards all forms of confidential patient and organizational information.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, walk, lift up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques, climb stairs, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp, and perform repetitive arm and hand movements on a continuous basis.



Required Education and Experience


Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related social services field.



Preferred Education and Experience


Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Master of Social Work (MSW), Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), and at least one year of experience working with substance use disorder patients preferred.
