
Counselor
Funding Notice: This position is funded through federal Title I funds. Continuation of the position in subsequent school years is contingent upon the school district's annual allocation and continued availability of Title I funding. Continued funding of this position from year to year is not guaranteed.
1. To effectively conduct the counseling goals and objectives mandated by the
WV Department of Education, the Drug Free Schools Program, and the Wyoming County Board of Education as related to his/her particular school assignments
2. Provide counseling for students at risk, coordinate with local law enforcement agencies to improve security on school grounds and to assure that there is cooperation between the school system and the enforcement agencies
3. Works under the direct supervision of the principal and Assistant Superintendent
4. Carry out the laws and policies of the state and county relating to education, including rules relating to the welfare of students
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent
Qualifications:
1. Must meet West Virginia Department of Education certification standards in
elementary/middle school counseling - Certification/Licensure and/or Both
2. Demonstrates qualifications further detailed in job description
3. Must hold or be eligible for certification, licensure, and/or both in school counseling
