Department Overview
The Law Department provides timely, efficient and business-focused legal services to the company. It is part of a larger General Counsel, Ethics, Risk, and Compliance business unit within the company. The Litigation section manages major incident response, pre-litigation disputes, state and federal court litigation through trial and appeal, as well as mediation and arbitration of disputes and claims. The cases managed by the litigation team covers many areas of law including contract, tort (personal injury and property damage), real estate law, intellectual property, antitrust, securities, and class action.
PG&E is seeking a highly skilled Counsel with a minimum of 3 years of substantive litigation experience to join our dynamic litigation team. This role reports to the Managing Counsel of Litigation and Claims and involves providing legal advice, counsel, and representation throughout all stages of litigation. The successful candidate will handle a variety of disputes and proceedings, with an emphasis on real property and land-related litigation, including easement disputes, eminent domain and inverse condemnation matters, rights-of-way issues, and other property-related claims, in addition to broader litigation matters.
You will be responsible for managing your own docket of cases through resolution as well as partnering with outside counsel where appropriate. This position offers an opportunity to leverage your litigation and case management expertise to make a significant impact.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs or company requirements. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
