Job Description

This position will support the Finance Manager in maintaining the completeness and accuracy of the physical inventory records for production parts. Moreover, this position will have responsibility for maintaining active cycle counting, investigating root cause of variances, implementing appropriate countermeasures, and assisting with establishing relevant policies and procedures surrounding inventory control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Each Responsibility listed below are Finance Specialist Responsibilities, but will be assigned individually. Duties may be shifted from time to time in the event of absence, vacations, workload, etc.

Inventory

  • Communicate and revise Inventory procedures to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Run inventory reports to verify accuracy of production reporting.
  • Monthly scrap reporting and reconciliation with Oracle.
  • Run Receiving Value Report weekly to check for unprocessed items.
  • Run Open PO reports and confirm status of aging PO's with the business
  • Analyze and identify through various reporting methods, inaccuracies in inventory management and correct same through management communication and independent Investigation.
  • Investigate and help establish internal procedures in Shipping, Receiving, Service and Production Reporting as it effects and insures inventory accuracy.
  • Develop the documentation through reporting formats, Inventory status on a
  • regular and as needed basis."
  • Analyze new and existing Bill of Materials (BOM) parts and structure and advise how to correct errors with the goal to prevent Inventory Skew.
  • Participate in the preparation of the semi-annual Physical Inventory for AEIL . Participate in all inventory-related events.
  • Work in close liaison with Finance, Cost, Information Systems (Oracle), Quality, Manufacturing, Production Control etc.. to identify and reconcile inventory issues as they impact AEIL's financial reporting and inventory accuracy.
  • Support all essential month end close procedures within Oracle as necessary.
  • Review inventory balances for reasonableness.
  • All other inventory/reporting activities as deemed necessary by the Finance Manager.
  • Other Duties / Reporting
  • Investigate all unusual and reported inventory issues as they occur.
  • Apply problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Understanding transactional flow within Oracle for inventory movement based upon the various underlying business processes.
  • Assist with internal & external financial audit/review procedures
  • Create, maintain and revise work instructions for all work processes as requested/needed
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities, except directing team members when appropriate on special projects, such as the physical inventory count.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

An Associate Degree is preferred, with a concentration in Accounting or business related field preferred.

Knowledge and/or experience in Inventory Control/Management is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed in a manufacturing setting. Lighting, temperature and working conditions are all within acceptable ranges.
