Key Position Details:

Job Description:

Works independently on all Medicare, Medicaid and TriCare Cost Reports and Minnesota Department of Health Hospital Annual Report (HAR) and Medical Education Research Costs (MERC) responsibilities.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Works independently on all Medicare, Medicaid and TriCare Cost Reports and Minnesota Department of Health Hospital Annual Report (HAR) and Medical Education Research Costs (MERC) responsibilities.
  • Lead annual Cost Report peer-review process.
  • Prepare annual data requests.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) audits and desk reviews.
  • Responds to MAC data requests.
  • Acts as a liaison between the MAC and the system.
  • Coordinates and facilitates Medicaid Cost Reports and Disproportionate Share audits as well as annual MERC applications.
  • Organizes all provider appeals including correspondence, documentation, tracking, regulatory filings and administrative resolution of open issues.
  • Leads annual cost report peer review process.
  • Attends designated reimbursement, provider and department staff and leadership meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field
  • 3 to 7 years of applicable Medicare Reimbursement experience with a Medicare Administrative Contractor, Public Accounting Health Care Provider or consulting background
  • 2 to 7 years of experience with Microsoft Office and other financial systems software

Pay Range

Pay Range: $40.08 to $54.93 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
