The Billing Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the billing process within the Department. This role ensures that all invoices are accurate, delivered on time, and compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements and maintaining positive relationships with HMO partners. The Billing Lead will collaborate closely with other department, manage the billing team, and support the Head of Billing & Collections in meeting the department’s strategic goals.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Billing Operations Management
• Oversee and manage the entire billing cycle from invoice generation to payment receipt.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of billing data in the system.
• Address and resolve and billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual terms.
2. Team Leadership and Development
• Supervise, mentor, and guide the billing team members, including assigning tasks and conducting performance evaluations.
• Identify training needs and support professional development for team members.
• Ensure the team adheres to established processes and meets productivity targets.
Process Improvement
• Continuously review and improve billing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement automation tools where applicable to streamline operations.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance billing software and systems.
3. Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with the collections team to ensure timely follow-up on unpaid invoices.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and finance teams to address any customer queries or issues related to billing.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the AVP on billing metrics, key performance indicators, and team performance.
4. Reporting and Analytics
• Prepare and analyze billing reports to monitor the performance of the billing function.
• Provide insights on revenue trends, billing errors, and areas needing improvement.
• Support the AVP with financial forecasting and budget planning related to billing activities.
5. Compliance and Audit
• Ensure that all billing processes are compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
• Prepare for and support internal and external audits, including gathering necessary documentation and ensuring accurate records.
6. Customer Relationship Management
• Address escalated billing-related inquiries or disputes with customers.
• Foster positive relationships with customers through timely communication and resolution of billing issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in billing and collections, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
• Strong knowledge of billing software and systems
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
