Job Description

I.

I.

Timing:

  • Tracking
and expedite the progress of BCO ideas, including the ideas already approved by
CM and ideas under feasibility assessment.

  • Handle
issues arising during implementation of BCO ideas, ensuring the application
timeline of the ideas meets the SOP targets.

  • Evaluate,
identify, and warn of risks related to the progress of BCO ideas based on the
development lead time of the technical department, the lead time for ordering
new components, and the estimated time for ECR approval.

  • Expedite
the utilization of obsolete and long-stored components to clean up warehouse
space and save on scrap costs.

  • Evaluate
and identify risks related to costs when implementing the utilization of
obsolete components with no demand in next 12 months (including rework costs,
logistics costs for ideas sale off the obsolete components to suppliers for production
of new components; it is necessary to verify investment costs and compare with
    saving amount).

  • Tracking
the progress of ideas registered on the TFS and expedite relevant departments
to complete the implementation of the ideas as soon as possible. Resolve any issues
    causing delays.

II.

Quality:

Technical
Documents:

  • Create
technical assessments for BCO ideas from the Manufacturing division, concerning
the feasibility of component/vehicle quality upon implementation,
manufacturability, impact on tools/jigs, impact on the production process, and
    process quality.

  • Register
BCO ideas on the TFS, track progress, and update relevant information such as
investment costs, savings achieved, applicable vehicles, variants, markets,
module responsible for implementing the idea, and the ECR number related to the
    idea.

  • Create
a list of information for BCO’s impacted parts number (including: EBOM/MBOM
parts number, part name, Purchase level, usage/car, piece price, corresponding
information of the new parts; assessment of the reuse ability of the old part,
how it will be reused; and for components requiring scrapping, check and
confirm the required quantity for After Sales before scrap).

  • Create
an inventory information table for impacted parts number list of BCO package,
including inventory at VinFast, inventory at the supplier, Goods In Transit,
    and Firmed orders.

  • Create
a stock calculation sheet for impacted parts of the BCO packages, thereby define
the most optimal timing to implement – choosing the time when scrap costs and
    additional investment costs are minimized.

  • Use
the Power BI system to generate a list of obsolete components with no demand in
next 12 months and high value to evaluate to reuse for other vehicle/variants/markets.

  • Analyze
and assess the ECRs, their technical and cost impact, as well as their impact
    on the BOM.

  • Create
checklist and RASIC matrices for ECR checking and verification

BOM:

  • Analyze
the EBOM information to verify the impacted parts number of BCO package, and
check other information related to the parts such as Purchase level, applicable
market, implementation timeline, and supplier information.

  • Check and confirm the part number in
the MBOM against the EBOM part number to ensure that all impacted parts number
of BCO package have been considered and fully reflected in the inventory
    calculation table.

  • Use EBOM to re-verify the engineers'
judgments regarding the inability to reuse old components (For example, if an
engineer has assessed a part as scrap in a BCO idea, it is necessary to
cross-check with EBOM to confirm whether that component is being used for other
    vehicle programs).

Design/Drawings:

  • Analyze
the function and technical specifications of the component proposed for change
in the BCO idea based on 2D & 3D drawings. Conduct technical discussions
with MML/LE to make a final decision on the feasibility of the idea.

  • V

    erify
and confirm the technical specifications of the component based on 2D/3D
drawings (related to design parameters, materials, heat treatment requirements,
    surface coating requirements).

  • For
BCO ideas related to standard components (such as bolts, nuts, screws), analyze
and compare the technical specifications of the old and new components. Discuss
with the Standard Component Engineer to reach a final decision on the
    feasibility of the idea.

Integration, Testing & Validation:

  • Conduct
technical discussion with the PIC manufacturing engineer and module MML/LE, to do
trial tests for BCO ideas related to standard components such as bolts, nuts,
    and screws.

  • Evaluate
the impact of the BCO ideas on homologation in Vietnam and international
    markets.

  • For
ideas utilizing obsolete or long-term stored components, request the Quality
team to inspect, evaluate, and confirm the component's functions still meet
    Vinfast's quality standards, if necessary.

III.
Cost & Common Component:

  • Evaluate and expedite the utilization of
obsolete components that are no longer in demand for current vehicle lines,
either through direct reuse or rework.

  • For obsolete parts that cannot be used for
current vehicle lines, continue to check and confirm demand from AFS. After
confirming with AFS and stock still not be cleared yet, further assess the opportunity
for sale off. If sale off is not possible, a decision will be made to scrap.

  • Expedite the implementation of approved BCO
packages, ensuring execution according to the established plan.

  • Seek opportunities for cost savings such as BCO
and the utilization of obsolete components.
