This function will work under limited direction to perform and achieve budget, cost modelling, and commercial tasks within the scope of multiple programs. MSP member will liaise with stakeholders of all levels, building good working relationships.

Essential Requirements

  • Leading and supporting budgeting, financial management in accordance with the AIR6015 Open Plan Professional (OPP) scheduling tool
  • Leading and supporting budgeting, financial management in accordance with the scheduling tool and reporting.
  • Assisting in determining the appropriate phasing's for future CASG procurement in the context of portfolio budget pressures and to CASG direction.
  • Contributing towards broader Cooperative Project cost estimation, financial management and accounting expertise in the broader CASPO Enterprise, including knowledge transfer.

  • Providing guidance and assisting with training and personal development planning to grow the commercial financial (cost modelling) acumen of the team; and providing input into, and clearance of, key planning documents.
  • Undertake data analytics and data visualisation activities using appropriate tools to improve insight and visibility of costing and funding information.
  • Design, develop and maintain reporting dashboards and analytical products that present complex financial data clearly, reliably and in line with stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure all costing and funding outputs comply with Defence financial frameworks, policies and governance requirements.
  • Support the audibility, transparency and assurance of costing and funding information, including the maintenance of appropriate evidence and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative, professional working relationships with internal team members and a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain cost estimates that are consistent, transparent, repeatable and fit-for purpose, using approved methodologies.
  • Obtain, record and manage supporting documentation and evidence to underpin cost estimates.
  • Review and advise on financial aspects of procurement activities.
  • Effective engagement of stakeholders and subject matter experts to facilitate outcomes (e.g. communicating effectively with areas of expertise).

  • Accounting degree is highly desirable but not essential
  • Extensive experience working in a forecast modelling or cost estimation, within a Defence environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of SPO business


Required Security Clearance Level Active NV1 Clearance.

Location Amberley QLD.

Weekly Hours Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week, with options for work from home on Friday's - depending on task requirements
