Job Description

Do you want beneficial technologies being shaped by your ideas? Whether in the areas of mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology or energy and building technology - with us, you will have the chance to improve quality of life all across the globe. Welcome to Bosch.

What awaits you with us:

As an experienced Cost Engineer, you will be a central interface, supporting product responsible, project/module teams, and purchasing in making our products even more successful in the market through an optimized cost structure. You support continuously improving the competitiveness of our products across the entire product lifecycle.

Your Mission – Challenges that will inspire you:

  • The Cost Analyst: You'll dive deep into component and product costs, conduct thorough cost analyses and competitor benchmarks. Using state-of-the-art tools and methods, lead successful cost workshops and you'll uncover optimization potential.
  • The Disassembler & Improver: You'll get hands-on with component deep dives. You'll disassemble parts, understand technical concepts in detail, derive manufacturing concepts, and set up bottom-up cost structures to identify cost drivers.
  • The Presenter & Impetus Provider: You'll convincingly present your results and concrete cost improvement proposals to stakeholders, business unit management, and the HC board. Subsequently, you'll hand over the findings to the stakeholders for further cost work and cost optimization.
  • Design-to-Cost: From early concept phase you bring transparency to development. With cost analyses, product benchmark inputs, and your own innovative ideas, you support engineering in achieving target costs early on.
  • The Strategic Purchasing Partner: You assist purchasing with profound cost analysis and transparency. Your goal is to ensure "best cost at launch," identify further cost potential for series parts, analyze supplier processes and actively support negotiations.
  • The Target Cost Navigator: You support the derivation of target costs for complex HVAC systems and their breakdown into appliances, system components, and modules – always based on performed benchmarks.
  • Cross-functional collaboration & communication You’ll work in a global, cross-functional environment. You cooperate and communicate across all HC levels with business/product owners and project teams. You’ll translate complex cost challenges into compelling, data-backed improvement proposals.

Qualifications

What you bring – Your profile that convinces us:

  • Education: A completed degree (Master's/Bachelor's/Diploma) with a technical focus or in industrial engineering forms your strong foundation.
  • Experience and Knowledge: You bring several years of professional experience in cost analysis / management and benchmarking. In-depth technical and cost-related expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems is an advantage.
  • Qualifications: profound knowledge in cost analysis. Modern tools and methods of cost engineering, design-to-cost, and target costing are well known.
  • Personality and Working Practice: You are a true team player with a results-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset. Your hands-on mentality, coupled with strong analytical skills, enables you to operate successfully both conceptually and operationally. Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills complete your profile.
  • Work Routine: you collaborate with international and intercultural teams and are willing to travel for your assignments.
  • Languages: very good English and local language skills (both written and spoken) are a given for you.
