We're hiring a Cost Engineer (Lahore - Night Shift) - Onsite

About the Company:

We are an Engineer Consulting Company that primarily provides service to clients in North America in the automotive industry. Our clients basically provide sheet metal stamped and assembled automotive parts to majors vehicle manufacturers such as Honda, Ford, Toyota, etc.

We are based in Lahore and work directly with international clients, giving the employees real exposure to North American engineering standards and work culture without leaving Pakistan.

We are seeking a Cost Engineer who is detail-oriented, analytical, and confident working with numbers. The ideal candidate must have a strong foundation in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly learn systems such as customer portals used for managing quotes. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities


1. Customer Portal Management

a. Administer and maintain the customer portal, ensuring all data related to parts,
materials, and customer quotes are secure, functional, and user-friendly.
b. Translate the internal Master quote into multiple customer-specific forms, each with its own unique method for calculating the final price.
c. Input and update new quotes, including material and scrap rates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

2. Material Content Breakdown Forms (MCBFs)

a. Create and maintain Material Content Breakdown Forms (MCBFs), detailing material data such as weight, size, and other specifications for individual parts.
b. Collect and input all necessary material information into MCBFs to facilitate requests for material price quotations.

3. Excel Analysis

a. Use advanced Microsoft Excel to analyze data, compare multiple sheets, and perform detailed cost analysis (e.g., XLOOKUP, PivotTables, complex formulas, Macros, VBA).

4. Cost Estimation and Control

a. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project management teams to gather
accurate cost data and develop cost estimates.
b. Compare actual costs to budgeted costs, perform variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions to stay within budget.
c. Monitor project financials and assist in cost forecasting using Excel to identify potential cost overruns or savings.

5. Continuous Improvement

a. Regularly update and improve Excel-based reporting tools to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve decision-making.
b. Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for cost and data
management processes.

6. Reporting and Documentation

a. Provide regular forecast reports to management from the portal.
b. Maintain accurate documentation and records of files, ensuring they are up to date.

Qualifications and Requirements


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0 to 1 years of experience in engineering, data management, or finance.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH,
  • data comparison, and macros).
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, perform cost comparisons, identify trends, and propose effective solutions for cost forecasting and control, while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to create reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and interact effectively at all organizational levels.

Additional Information:

  • Working Hours: 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM PKT (Monday to Friday) to support our North American-based clients.
  • Salary: Market Competitive
  • Benefits: performance-based bonus at the end of the year
  • Location: DHA phase 8, Lahore.
