The Costing
Engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing product cost
structures—particularly for electric vehicles (EVs)—across the entire product
lifecycle. The role ensures cost competitiveness, supports profitability
targets, and drives continuous cost improvement initiatives.

Key
Responsibilities

• 
  Develop,
  analyze, and optimize vehicle cost structures and Bills of Materials (BOM)
  throughout the product development lifecycle.
• 
  Perform
  detailed cost analysis covering materials, manufacturing processes,
  tooling, logistics, and overhead.
• 
  Establish
  comprehensive cost breakdown structures and cost models to support design,
  sourcing, and manufacturing decisions.
• 
  Benchmark
  product and cost structures against major global EV OEMs, with a strong
  focus on the China EV market.
• 
  Support
  supplier negotiations, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE)
  activities, and localization strategies to achieve cost reduction targets.
• 
  Monitor,
  track, and report cost performance, cost variances, and realized savings
  to management.
• 
  Collaborate
  cross-functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and
  Finance teams to drive cost optimization initiatives.

Requirements

• 
  Minimum
  of
  5 years’ experience
  in Cost Engineering within the automotive
  and/or EV industry.
• 
  Mandatory
  experience
  working with or within the
  China EV market.
• 
  Experience
  collaborating with or benchmarking against major automotive OEMs
  comparable to VinFast.
• 
  Bachelor’s
  degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 
  Strong
  analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel;
  experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is required.
• 
  Fluency
  in English is required; proficiency in Chinese is a strong advantage.
• 
  Open
  to both Vietnamese and international candidates.
