Job Description

All Energy Contracting (AEC) is a leading multi-disciplinary construction contractor specialising in the renewable energy and power infrastructure sectors. We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to support the financial performance and commercial success of our projects. This permanent, full-time role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and financial visibility across projects, supporting informed decision making and strong commercial outcomes.

Working closely with Project Managers, finance teams, and key stakeholders, you will provide meaningful insights into project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help drive financial
efficiency across a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate project cost forecasts, budgets, and accruals
  • Monitor project cost performance and analyse variances against budget and forecast
  • Clearly articulate monthly cost variances, including root causes and cost drivers
  • Prepare detailed financial and cost reports for project teams and leadership
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of project expenditures to identify discrepancies and improvement opportunities
  • Support the preparation of financial documentation for project bids and tenders
  • Collaborate with procurement, commercial, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
  • Ensure a high level of data accuracy and integrity across project reporting systems
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on cost control processes and best practice

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in cost control or financial analysis, ideally within a project-based environment
  • Experience in cost control, finance, project administration, or a similar role
  • Proven experience working in project cost control, forecasting, and accruals
  • Extensive experience in a similar Cost Controller role within a large corporate environment
  • Experience within the energy, utilities, construction, or infrastructure industry highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals and revenue recognition
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contracts and financial impacts
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial systems/software
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial information to operational teams
