In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening financial processes, improving operational visibility, and enhancing reporting accuracy across the organization. The successful candidate will be someone who is comfortable challenging outdated processes, introducing efficiencies, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve overall business performance. A strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, month-end processes, and ERP-driven financial analysis will be essential to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

ERP Systems & Financial Operations

  • Act as the primary resource and in-house expert for the Visual ERP platform.
  • Manage ERP system setup, ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and overall system effectiveness.
  • Work closely with IT and internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve ERP-related issues and improve system functionality.

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

  • Lead ERP-related month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual manufacturing variance reports across departments.
  • Produce labour and overhead absorption analysis within global financials and incorporate findings into periodic reporting packages.
  • Develop and maintain structured close-process documentation, including workflows, checklists, and procedures for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
  • Generate quarterly finished goods analysis by SKU and product family, including metrics such as year-to-date sales, margins, inventory levels, demand trends, purchase orders, usage rates, inventory turns, and weeks on hand.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Review and validate financial data within the ERP environment to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Build and distribute detailed financial reports, summaries, and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze operational and financial trends to support informed business decisions and improve financial performance.

Process Optimization & Training

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and outdated financial workflows, and recommend scalable process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to modernize procedures and implement tools that improve operational efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Deliver ERP training and onboarding support to new team members, including areas such as part maintenance, manufacturing functions, material planning, MPS/MRP processes, and costing methodologies within Visual ERP.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure ERP processes align with operational and business requirements.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings with cross-functional departments to review financial variances and address operational concerns.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Finance and IT on ERP-related initiatives and system enhancements.
  • Provide guidance to Purchasing and Accounts Payable teams regarding proper general ledger account usage and coding practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with ERP systems in a cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or related financial role.
  • Hands-on experience with Visual ERP is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles and month-end close procedures.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with reporting or visualization tools is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and SharePoint.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Why This Opportunity?

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Cost Accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys improving systems, processes, and financial visibility.
