We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive accountant to support our cost accounting and supply chain functions. In this role, you will manage key accounting processes, ensure accurate financial reporting, and partner cross functionally to support operational and strategic initiatives.

This is a hybrid role based in either our Purchase, NY, Chicago, IL or Plano, TX office.

Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting:

  • Lead periodic, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned accounting areas.
  • Manage the derivatives accounting process, including review of inputs from the derivatives COE and ensuring accurate financial statement presentation.
  • Prepare and review quarterly commodity and inflation reporting for submission.
  • Calculate and prepare intercompany COGS and sales eliminations.
  • Maintain and reconcile prepaid operating and accrued operating accounts.
  • Ensure supplier equipment balances are accurately stated and prepare related reporting.
  • Perform periodic account reconciliations and resolve outstanding discrepancies.

Operational Accounting & Cross Functional Support:

  • Oversee scrap accounting processes; collaborate with supply chain finance to identify scrap and adjust accruals as needed.
  • Partner with warehouse and transportation finance teams to prepare and post recurring journal entries.
  • Support resolution of functional area discrepancies during each period close.
  • Participate in Supply Chain Finance initiatives and cross functional projects.
  • Contribute to business integration and PGT initiatives, including supporting plant and distribution center transitions to S4.

Compliance & Process Improvement:

  • Maintain SOX documentation and perform required testing to support compliance targets.
  • Complete ad hoc reporting, journal entries, and analyses.
  • Develop and implement new reporting and analytical processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $73,400 - $122,850.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 5% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA required
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Public accounting experience with Big 4 firm strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Experience with period end close processes and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/S4 experience preferred).
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or CPG environments.
  • Familiarity with derivatives accounting and intercompany eliminations.
  • Prior involvement in SOX compliance and testing.
  • Experience supporting system implementations or business integration projects.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
