We're looking for a Plant Accountant to join our Brampton Packaging Facility and play a key role in supporting operational excellence, financial performance, and continuous improvement. This is more than a traditional accounting role. You'll work closely with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to help drive informed business decisions and ensure the financial health of a growing manufacturing operation.

This role follows a hybrid work arrangement, with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home each week.

What You'll Do

As the Plant Accountant, you'll help ensure the accuracy of financial and inventory information that drives day-to-day business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing inventory accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Supporting product costing and manufacturing accounting activities
  • Participating in month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
  • Partnering with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and operational performance
  • Supporting physical inventory counts and investigating inventory variances
  • Assisting with purchasing, accounts payable, and procurement-related activities
  • Maintaining inventory and product master data within ERP systems
  • Supporting internal controls, audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to process improvements and systems enhancement projects, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 initiatives
  • Providing analysis and insights that support operational and financial decision-making

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, inventory, cost accounting, or operational finance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems

Nice to Have

  • CPA designation or progress toward certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
  • Knowledge of inventory management and cost accounting principles
