As a Cost Accountant II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to financial excellence within our manufacturing operations. You'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting that supports our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This position offers opportunities for growth and development while working with advanced technologies and products that have broad impact.

In this role, you'll manage monthly closing activities, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory reconciliation processes. You'll collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to optimize costs while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance. Your analytical insights and financial expertise will help inform strategic decision-making and operational improvements across the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree with no prior experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preferred Fields of Study: Accounting, Finance, or related business field
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
• Additional relevant certifications (CMA) are advantageous
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and cost accounting principles
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management
• Proven ability to perform monthly close activities and financial reconciliations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Experience with cycle count programs and physical inventory processes
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and internal controls
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Proficiency in English required; additional languages beneficial
