Ensure that product costs are accurately and timely reported and that all data required for development of these costs are collected through a systematic process including communication with all levels of the plant. Also provide accounting and compliance support to the Department and plant.
· Construct and maintain standard cost system and bills of material for finished goods and related sub components
· Work with purchasing and AP for inventory management and processes.
· General ledger oversight and SAP maintenance
· Oversee month-end closing process, journal entry preparation and related support documentation
· Analyze and report daily on sales, scrap, direct labor and overhead results and maintain variances to forecasts
· Supervise, organize, and schedule monthly and annual physical inventory and/or cycle counts and maintain
perpetual inventory records
· Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile balance sheet accounts as required
· Process receipts and issues of inventory and non-inventory items into the cost accounting system
· Provide audit oversight and support
· Examine plant production costs. Understand, explain, and reconcile inventory variances
· Report and monitor monthly budget and actual reporting
· Oversee annual Budget preparation
· Prepare monthly financials and related reports submitted to Japanese and US parents
· Assist Accounting Department with other related projects as required
Some travel in Continental United States and overseas may be required
· Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
· Previous SAP experience (Preferred but not required)
· Ability to adapt to new and different computer software programs
· Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment
· Detailed oriented and able to multi-task
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or equivalent
