Teledyne LeCroy designs, manufactures, and markets state-of-the-art electronic test and measurement equipment. Originally founded as LeCroy Corporation in 1964, the company was acquired by Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY) in 2012 and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary. We are located in Chestnut Ridge, NY (Rockland County).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries related to inventory, cost of sales, accruals, and reserves
  • Perform cost accounting analysis, including purchase price variances (PPV) and work order variances, and partner with operations to drive resolution
  • Maintain and support standard costing and absorption accounting processes for manufactured products
  • Prepare and analyze inventory-related balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
  • Lead and support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, variance investigations, and process improvements
  • Perform excess and obsolete inventory reserve analysis and recommend adjustments
  • Support warranty reserve calculations and royalty accruals and reporting
  • Assist with expense budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for manufacturing operations and research and development areas
  • Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including cost and margin analysis
  • Assist with external auditors’ interim and annual audit requests, particularly related to inventory and cost accounting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and engineering to ensure accurate cost data and financial insights

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CMA, CPA and/or Master’s degree a plus
  • 3–5 years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience with manufacturing clients or
  • Corporate accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with inventory accounting and controls strongly preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, particularly inventory and cost accounting
  • Experience with:
    • Inventory controls and cycle counting
    • Standard costing and absorption accounting
    • Variance analysis (PPV, labor, overhead, and work order variances)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced), Word, and PowerPoint;
  • SAP ERP experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly driven, ambitious, and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset

Salary Range:

$77,900.00-$103,800.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
