
General Summary
The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, managing, and optimizing the cost structure of production operations at the plant level. This role focuses on tracking material, labor, and overhead costs and variances; maintaining accurate cost standards; and supporting inventory valuation and financial reporting. The Cost Accountant partners closely with plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve efficiency, and ensure strong cost controls. Key responsibilities typically include standard costing, variance analysis, budgeting, margin analysis, and supporting audits, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
