The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Hartsville is accepting applications for the position of a part time cosmetology adjunct/substitute instructor at the Hartsville main campus. This position will be scheduled as needed.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must have high school diploma/GED, active Cosmetology Instructor’s License with three years current work experience in the Cosmetology profession. Must be proficient in oral and written communication with a heavy emphasis on the ability to formulate and communicate ideas to individuals and/or groups. Must have the knowledge and ability to instruct, analyze, and solve student concerns. Previous teaching experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
• Teaching, training or salon management experience
• Experience in higher education
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, colleges, business and industry, faculty, staff and the general public
• Strong customer service skills; must possess effective oral and written communication skills to accurately convey information and to effectively present information
• Must have ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs, audio/visual equipment and software
• Must have the ability to multitask with good organization and planning skills
• Passionate belief in the power of education along with the desire to help students achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals
• Must be willing to remain current in the Cosmetology profession and remaining licensed
• Ability to be flexible and handle a variety of tasks at one time
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team-oriented environment
