Hours: PRN

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC

Our Cosmetologists provide cosmetology and barbering services to residents of our transitional care facility. This fulfilling, compassionate care helps patients feel presentable, comfortable, and more like themselves. More specifically, some of the Cosmetologists’ vital responsibilities include:

  • Performing hair style consultations with patients to determine the patients’ desired outcomes
  • Serving a range of age, wellness, and ability demographics, accommodating communication accordingly
  • Shampooing, cutting, styling, and coloring hair and performing barbering services
  • Completing annual competencies to maintain skills and quality of care
  • Attending staff meetings and any other required meetings
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the facility and keeping required safety standards

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Licensed in the state of Idaho as a beautician, barber, or cosmetologist
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills in the English language
  • Basic computer skills
  • Facilitation skills to work cooperatively with staff, patients, and others

Essential Job Functions:

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Regularly required to sit, bend, stoop, and stretch
  • Required to perform essential functions that necessitate eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports
  • Occasionally requires lifting supplies up to 25 pounds and lifting up to 100 pounds for transferring patients
  • Must comply with HIPAA to protect information that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidential
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards set by the facility

Work Environment:

  • FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
  • This employee works with typical salon conditions and noise level
