Responsible for providing spa guests with hair, finger, hand and feet beautification services that improve the guest’s overall sense of well-being in a relaxed and stress-free environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Interacts with the public and Team Members effectively and politely. Performs excellent guest service at all times.
Greets and services spa guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Performs hair care consultations and offers guidance to guests in selecting appropriate hair treatments.
Provides individualized hair and nails services and treatments that meet the guest’s needs and expectations.
Performs various types of hair, hand and feet beautification services which include hair, hair style, haircut, hair color, manicures, hand and foot massage, polishing of nails, trimming cuticles, general cleaning, shaping, waxing, and facial services as covered under technical school training and State License.
Ensures appropriate stock of supplies necessary to effectively perform job responsibilities.
Ensures timely services to all guests, keeping with the schedule to provide an optimal number of guests accommodated.
Maintains excellent product knowledge. Explains all Spa products, services, and treatments to guests and makes recommendations for their individual needs.
Follows up with guests, develops and maintains repeat clients.
Maintains Spa appearance and cleanliness.
Inspects work areas routinely for cleaning needs, defective materials, and potential safety hazards; notifies appropriate person(s) for proper resolution/dispensation.
Maintains adequate inventory of hair and nail products, cleansers, lotions, creams, gels, scrubs, masks, and solutions, etc.; Alerts management of any ordering needs. Restock supplies as necessary.
Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry.
Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.
Trains, performs and assists with all duties in the Spa Department during down times, staff shortages, and/or emergencies. May be assigned to other safety and security duties within Hospitality Division and/or the Resort during emergencies.
Performs any reasonable request made by Spa management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. .
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma of GED required. Graduate from an accredited cosmetology school. One year’s experience as a cosmetologist preferred, ideally in a salon, spa or resort setting.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Cosmetologist California Certification/License required and must be maintained during length of employment. Must be able to handle clients in difficult situations. Must be enthusiastic, energetic, personable, and friendly, as well as passionate, intelligent, and knowledgeable regarding the spa industry. Must have effective communication skills and be computer literate. Must have superior guest service skills and the ability to maintain confidential information due to the close contact with guests.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to guests and other team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
