The essential job responsibilities of the Corrosion Control Surveyor are to perform voltage surveys to monitor the level cathodic protection applied to gas mains and services; investigate and troubleshoot faults for gas service lines.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:
To perform the Corrosion Control Surveyor role, you must:
- Have knowledge/skills in electrical and electronic testing and repair.
- Successfully complete Placement/Performance Exercises.
- Successfully complete Color Blind I Test.
- Have a valid driver's license from state of residence.

Physical Working Conditions:
Works outside majority of time. Subject to working in proximity of traffic, construction work, pipes under pressure, electrical low voltage cables, standing/walking for extending periods, climbing ladders and medium lifting.

Electricity is supplied to MLGW by the Tennessee Valley Authority, while natural gas is purchased from a variety of suppliers and transported by three pipeline companies — Texas Gas Transmission Corporation, Trunkline Gas Company and ANR Pipeline Company. Memphis receives its water from one of the largest artesian water systems in the world.

MLGW is led by a president and a five-member board of commissioners who are appointed by the mayor of Memphis and approved by the Memphis City Council.
