makers and innovators of the country, using the power of storytelling to inspire change. With over 200 million readers
and participants, we are today the world’s largest solution-focused platform.
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Correspondent to join our editorial team.
As a Correspondent at The Better India, you will
● Find and pitch stories according to The Better India editorial guidelines
● Write powerful stories that create an impact
● Take ownership of your stories - their accuracy, format, flow, grammar, statistics and distribution
● Conceptualise and execute new content ideas aligned with TBI's purpose
● Help the team grow contacts, resources, and partnerships to keep our content fresh and innovative
● Build a strong pipeline of protagonists for future stories, ensuring a continuous flow of diverse and relevant
subjects
● Collaborate with editors and the team to ensure each piece aligns with The Better India’s goals, driving
website traffic and contributing to the real-world impact of our stories
This Correspondent plays a key role in:
● Helping the editorial team achieve monthly view targets by writing stories that attract and engage readers
● Working independently to manage deadlines and take initiative in finding stories and building relationships
with protagonists
● Ensuring the content you produce contributes to the on-the-ground impact of The Better India’s initiatives
● Managing multiple projects simultaneously, tracking progress, and building a sustainable pipeline of stories
● Adjusting to changing priorities, feedback, and evolving editorial strategies while maintaining high-quality
output

Our ideal colleague will be:

● Passionate about making an impact through storytelling and using the internet for good
● Skilled in interviewing and capturing compelling stories that resonate with our audience
● Always on the lookout for trending and offbeat stories that have the potential to inspire change
● Experienced in digital media, with 4-6 years of expertise in news writing, long-form writing, and analysis
● Interested in exploring new multimedia formats like videos and podcasts
● Comfortable working with audio-visual content, including scriptwriting and narration
● Have a strong focus on creating stories that drive website traffic and contribute to the on-the-ground impact
of the publication’s initiatives.
