Responsible for assisting with activities and programs that contribute to improving nuclear safety, reliability and efficiency of plant operations, including the Corrective Action Program, CAP Performance Monitoring, Statin Event Analysis and Trending, Operating Experience, Self-Assessment Programs and Benchmarking.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in activities associated with Performance Improvement Programs, including accurate navigation of Corrective Action Program software, meeting coordination, program monitoring, procedure reviews, and information management.
  • Complete Condition Evaluations and other lower-level corrective action program assignments; assist in the performance of Cause Evaluations and other higher level corrective action program assignments.
  • Participate on self-assessments, benchmarking activities, and the development of training as assigned.
  • Interface with applicable industry contacts through participation on conference calls, attendance at industry meetings, or establishing networking contacts at other stations.
  • Assist in the update of Performance Indicators and other information reports that are visible on a station level.
  • Chair Initial Screening Committee and Operating Experience Screening Committee meetings as needed and process the items screened in the software subsequent to the meetings.

What We're Looking For:

Corrective Action Specialist, Associate/ Salary Grade 6 ($74,551 - $93,188):

Education:

  • Successful completion of some post-secondary school education.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree or completion of a technical training program is preferred.

Work Experience:

  • One year of relevant nuclear plant experience.

Other:

  • Fluent user of business-related programs, such as the CAP software or equivalent program.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Corrective Action Specialist, Mid-level/Salary Grade 7 ($87,633 - $109,544):

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business or completion of technical training program or 3 years relevant nuclear experience.

Work Experience:

  • Two years' experience in nuclear Performance Improvement.

Corrective Action Specialist, Senior/Salary Grade 7 ($87,633 - $109,544):

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business or completion of technical training program or 4 years of relevant nuclear work experience.

Work Experience:

  • Three years' experience in nuclear Performance Improvement.

Other Requirements (Applies to Mid and Senior Levels):

  • Fluent user of CAP software and performance improvement program databases.
  • Cause Evaluation, Lead Assessor, or instructor qualifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends in performance improvement through networking activities, participation on conference call, industry meetings, and assessment at other stations.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

  • May perform walk downs in plant environment which may include exposure to heat, cold, noise, and radiation exposure.

Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant.
