The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department manages and operates a 481-bed Jail which contains a combination of direct supervision and remote supervision housing pods. It is a maximum-security facility which houses male and female, pre-trial and sentenced offenders. The Department is also responsible for inmates who have release privileges for work, education, child or elder care, and treatment programs. It employs approximately 160 corrections staff.

Lateral Transfer Benefitsare available with at least 3-years of full-time experience in a similar position within the 12-months prior to hire. Lateral benefits afford a higher starting wage, accelerated vacation accrual, and 40-hours of paid sick time upon hire.

Criminal History and Background CheckCandidates will need to pass a background investigation conducted by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.
