We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Corporate Trust Account Manager

Role Purpose

  • Primary responsible for supporting the active corporate trust accounts, supported by existing Securities Services (SSv) infrastructure on people, systems and processes.
  • To discharge trust and fiduciary duties in accordance with the Trust Agreement and applicable HSBC Group regional requirements.
  • To manage the relationship and needs of a portfolio of HSBC Securities Services clients.

Principal Accountabilities

Impact on the Business / Function

  • Ensure prudent management of trust accounts and activities
  • Proper discharge of trust and fiduciary obligations in accordance with internal and regulatory standards
  • Will directly report to the Head of Securities Services Philippines on an entity and functional basis, and will be directly accountable to the Executive Committee (ExCo) in the performance of his/her fiduciary duties
  • Will provide regular reports to local and regional governance committee providing oversight to the trust accounts
  • Fulfill the requirements and parameters of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Basic Standards and Risk Management Guidance for Trust, Othe Fiduciary and Investment Management Accounts
  • Fulfill within the context and bounds of the Bank's Trust license and authority, as well as the Bank's Executive Committee's and senior management's strategic mandate for the Trust business, including risk appetite
  • Be the central point of contact for all Trust related inquiries and audit

Client Management

  • Maintain strong connection with Product & SME's to build and navigate client solutions on BAU issues and change requests, as and when required

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Ensures that Trustors and Principals consistently receive a high level of fiduciary service in order to enhance the Bank's corporate franchise while effectively managing the risks arising from fiduciary obligations. Is tasked to ensure that trustee, agency, and range of other fiduciary services, are delivered to clients seamlessly, whilst effectively controlling associated risks.

Client Management

  • Build strong client relationships and manage daily issues, responsible for overall service governance
  • Maintain strong connection to the market, contribute and participate in external industry/thought leadership events

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
  • Implement the Group Compliance Policy
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Detect and safeguard against financial crime
  • Fulfill the requirements and parameters of all other applicable laws and regulations
  • Comply with all the applicable internal policies such as Securities Services and Global Risk FIM requirements

Client Management

  • Ensures compliance to regulations and continually monitors and managers operational risks inherent to the business and including the identification, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
  • Ensure full compliance to all the requirements of AMLA, HKMA and all other appropriate Group and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of actual experience in trust, other fiduciary business, or investment management activities;
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in relevant field such as banking, finance, economics, law, and risk management;
  • Familiarity with Philippine laws, rules and regulations on trust business, as well as uphold at all times ethical and good governance standards.
  • Have completed TIFP One-Year Course on Trust Operations and Investment Management or have completed at least ninety (90) training hours on trust, other fiduciary business, or investment management activities acceptable to the BSP
  • Must possess effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Able to build relationships and influence others, both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be able to think and work effectively under challenging situations, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed and timely decisions.
  • Must have strong sense of ownership, responsibility, accountability, and teamwork
