CORPORATE TREASURY

Corporate Treasury division manages the firm’s liquidity, funding, balance sheet and capital to maximize net interest income and return on equity through liability planning and execution, financial resource allocation, asset liability management, and liquidity portfolio management.

Corporate Treasury Operations (CTO) is a pillar within the Corporate Treasury division. CTO leads the development of new payments-centric businesses, build scale and improve agility to adapt to a rapidly changing payment landscape while managing and optimizing the firm’s liquidity. This team acts as a first line of defense for control and governance to protect the firm’s financial assets. By incorporating differentiated client service, CTO aims to be best in class.

Corporate Treasury Operations has regional presence in Salt Lake City, Dallas, New York, London, Warsaw, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Tokyo, Singapore, Frankfurt, and many other offices.

YOUR IMPACT

You are looking to join a fast-paced, dynamic Treasury Claims team that has broad connectivity across the firm, clients, agent banks and market infrastructures. In this role, you will support a franchise-critical process focused on claims identification, validation, back valuation, negotiation and resolution across payments and securities-related activity. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external banks and clients to drive timely resolution of claims, reduce economic impact and strengthen operational risk management.

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Treasury Claims is a global function within Treasury Services, responsible for managing payment and securities claims arising from delayed, failed, amended or incorrectly valued transactions. The team partners closely with Operations, Business, Controllers, Legal, agent banks and clients to investigate claims, perform back valuation analysis, negotiate settlements and ensure timely resolution in line with internal standards and market practices. The function plays an important role in protecting the firm from economic loss, improving client experience and strengthening payment controls across multiple payment rails.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will reside within Treasury Claims Operations and will focus on managing claims across payments and securities-related cash flows. The analyst will be responsible for reviewing claim requests, validating payment timelines, performing back valuation calculations, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and driving claims to timely closure.

  • Manage day-to-day Treasury claims activity across payment and securities-related transactions.
  • Review, investigate and validate claims arising from delayed payments, failed settlements, incorrect value dating, amendments or processing exceptions.
  • Perform back valuation analysis and calculate economic impact in line with agreed methodology, market standards and internal procedures.
  • Engage with clients, agent banks, internal Operations teams and senior stakeholders to negotiate and resolve claims efficiently.
  • Build a strong understanding of multiple payment rails, including SWIFT, ACH, wires, real-time payments and local market payment infrastructures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify recurring claim drivers, improve controls and support process enhancements.
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, strong risk discipline and timely communication.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Knowledge of the payments domain, including cash movements, payment lifecycle, settlement exceptions and payment investigations.
  • Understanding of securities products and how securities activity can generate cash movements, value-date breaks and claims exposure.
  • Working knowledge of claims processes, including claim validation, back valuation, interest calculation, negotiation and settlement.
  • Good understanding of different payment rails such as SWIFT, ACH, wires, real-time payments and local clearing systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior stakeholders, clients and agent banks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, remain composed under pressure and deliver within tight timelines.
  • Strong attention to detail, risk mindset and ability to identify process gaps, recurring issues and control improvement opportunities.
  • Proactive, collaborative and team-oriented approach, with a strong desire to learn and contribute to Treasury Claims governance.
  • PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience in Treasury Operations, Claims, Payments, Securities Operations, Cash Management or Settlements is preferred.
  • Experience working with clients, agent banks or external market participants to resolve payment or settlement-related issues.
  • Knowledge of automation, workflow management, controls reporting or data analysis tools such as Alteryx, Tableau or similar platforms is beneficial.
