Job Description

CharteredPartners is seeking a Corporate Tax Director to lead complex advisory delivery within a growing accounting firm in Dubai. The successful candidate will own technical quality across a fast-evolving corporate tax practice, lead the most intricate advisory engagements and support partners as many groups in the region build their tax functions for the first time. This is a senior delivery and leadership role spanning the newly introduced UAE Corporate Tax regime, transfer pricing and free-zone planning, with accountability for the standards and development of the wider team. Specific qualifications, regulatory fluency and technical breadth are detailed in the sections that follow.

Confidential Client. Applying to this position means that you are interested to have an initial confidential discussion about how we can help you to identify and join a new accounting-firm practice. With your authorisation we will exclusively run the entire application and recruitment process for you, keeping you apprised at every step. With over 30 years' combined experience of helping the most talented accounting, audit, tax and advisory professionals to make safe, well-judged moves into rewarding new roles, we have the experience, network and ability to help you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of complex corporate tax advisory engagements, taking ownership of technical positions under the UAE Corporate Tax regime.
  • Own technical quality across the portfolio, reviewing advice and setting standards for the team.
  • Advise clients on UAE Corporate Tax at 9% (effective 2023, administered by the Federal Tax Authority) and VAT at 5%.
  • Direct transfer pricing analyses aligned to OECD principles, including master and local file documentation.
  • Advise on free-zone structuring and the Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) 0% regime, alongside economic substance requirements.
  • Assess and advise on Pillar Two obligations and their interaction with the UAE rules.
  • Support partners on origination and the strategic development of client relationships, particularly groups establishing new tax functions.
  • Mentor and develop senior managers and managers, building technical depth across an emerging practice.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A recognised professional accounting or tax qualification (such as ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in corporate tax, ideally combining international experience with GCC or UAE exposure.
  • Strong working knowledge of the UAE Corporate Tax regime and FTA administration.
  • Practical command of VAT at 5% and its interaction with corporate tax planning.
  • Authoritative understanding of transfer pricing under OECD-aligned rules, including documentation requirements.
  • Experience advising on free-zone structures, the QFZP 0% regime and economic substance.
  • A developing or established command of Pillar Two and its UAE application.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex advisory engagements and own technical quality.
  • Strong leadership, review and coaching capability across a multi-level team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with senior client stakeholders.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting groups building or restructuring tax functions for the first time.
  • Exposure to large corporate and multinational clients across multiple sectors.
  • Familiarity with FTA registration, filing and clarification processes.
  • Involvement in transfer pricing documentation and benchmarking projects.
  • A track record of supporting business development in a growth market.
  • Experience contributing to technical training and knowledge-sharing.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.

Next Steps:

This opportunity is open to candidates who hold or can obtain the right to work in the United Arab Emirates and who match the above criteria. Please apply to receive prompt contact from an experienced and specialist accounting-firm recruitment consultant.
